As a gymnast, I need to be strong and powerful. When I perform gymnastics, my positions require me to utilize bursts of power and strength. This is different from other sports that require sustained levels of power. Because of the unique demands of my sport, I need to maintain a lean physique with good muscle strength and low levels of body fat. Therefore, I need to be careful about what I eat. Usually my diet consists of lots of protein and moderate amounts of complex carbohydrates and healthy fats to give my body the nutrients it needs.
Like any good athlete, I try to eat healthy. My snacks include protein bars, multigrain snacks, nuts, fruits, raw vegetables and salads. But I am human too and like everyone else I have a sweet tooth. Though I religiously avoid sweets, I sometimes succumb to the temptation. When that happens, I crave sweet things. A few years ago, this craving cost me the gold medal at the national level. I was adding sugar to everything because I was stressed about participating in the competition at the national level. My stress-influenced sugar consumption led to weight gain which in turn affected my performance. As much as i hate to admit it, I didn’t even make it to the semi-finals.
This experience served as an eye-opener for me. I knew I would turn to the sweet taste when I got stressed, so I set about searching for a healthy alternative for sugar. Luckily, I found Kaloree1, one of the country’s best alternative to sugar. Once I replaced sugar with Kaloree1 in my diet, there was no looking back. I quickly lost the weight I had gained. I was soon back to performing at my best levels. There was no stopping me now. Kaloree1 became my fitness ka meetha mantra. And this year I won the gold medal I had long coveted. Thank you Kaloree1.
