You can also choose to eat snack bars and shakes specifically designed sugar free tablets for diabetic patients. This way you can get your required carbohydrate intake at the proper time even if you are travelling, stuck in traffic or juggling a busy day. However, a shake or bar cannot be used to replace your regular meals. It is okay to eat them once in a while. Nothing can take the place of wholesome, home-cooked food. Neither should you eat these bars or shakes in addition to your regular meals and snacks as they can cause a spike in blood sugar levels. Remember, eating sensibly can do wonders for controlling your diabetes and health in the long run.
